Senior Backend Developer (NestJS)

Our platform talks to dozens of external providers and serves brands with real money flowing through them. You will design and own services where correctness matters: idempotency, retries, backpressure, observability. We deploy to Kubernetes many times a day and expect engineers to own their services in production.
What you will do
- Design and build platform services in NestJS / Node.js with PostgreSQL
- Integrate external providers (payments, content, messaging) with defensive contracts
- Own reliability: SLOs, alerts, graceful degradation, incident reviews
- Model data carefully — migrations are a first-class citizen here
- Mentor middle engineers through review and design sessions
What we expect
- 5+ years backend experience, 2+ with Node.js/NestJS in production
- Strong SQL and data-modeling skills (PostgreSQL preferred)
- You have designed idempotent APIs and can explain why it was hard
- Comfort with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- You treat observability as part of the feature, not an afterthought
Nice to have
- Payments or fintech background
- Event-driven architectures (queues, outbox pattern)
- gRPC or GraphQL federation experience
